The only navy blue horsehide that stays navy blue is the Vicenza and the Shinki.
I don’t believe this is the case for the Shinki. It’s pigment finished.

I suspect this hide (horse?) Aero used to have stayed blue. Not CXL or vic. Not sure what it was.I don’t believe this is the case for the Shinki. It’s pigment finished.
The 50’s HB was truly teal. Electric color. Proved too much for me but it was beautiful indeed. Those two CXL navy midnight blue are just awesome.

More royal than navy.

I always think of midnight blue as turquoise or evergreen.

Is Lewis Veg tan horse an option now? The last time I checked a few days ago after seeing Monitor store visit blue jacket, it was not available from the online shop. Only veg cow and veg sheep and the chrome stuff. Is it still email order only for now? What is the upcharge? The admittedly very pricey Lewis veg-tan horse might be a good way to get that similar mottled dark blue look (without the CXL fade-to-brown).

That Monitor jacket looks great though. Electric blue! First Lewis jacket to catch my short attention since the racing green sheep one...Same charge as veg-tan cow. It was available about a year ago when I emailed them; possibly they’ve limited supply so they‘re keeping it to email?
It’s certainly appealing but cow and sheep feel like the most traditional choices to get for a Lewis (besides the 1930s models) which has me leaning that way.
