Aero cordovan owners: should I or should I not buy an Aero jacket in cordovan?

Do you like your cordovan Aero jacket or would you not recommend one and why?

Some say it's too purple. Others say it bleeds too much.

Discuss.

Mine isn't purple and it has never bled. Aero told me the bleeding resulted from owners applying conditioners to the new jackets. A few of our members have reported bleeding problems even though they hadn't applied anything to the leather. If you like cordovan, go ahead and get one. I like mine and have gotten quite a few compliments on it.

My FQHH Bootlegger in cordovan arrived a few weeks ago. Only got to wear it out a few times before the weather got too hot for it, but I love it. I had only a tiny amount of bleed onto a white shirt collar first time I wore it - quick wash in the machine shifted that no problem. I too had heard the horror stories about cordovan bleed but decided to risk it with my jacket; didn't want another brown or black jacket (have plenty and planning plenty more of those already!), so I figured I'd chance it. Very happy with the results. Not a purple, more a burgundy / claret to my eye. Definitely redder than purple.

My cordovan 30s HB bled very slightly at the collar when new but seemed fine after a couple of weeks wear. It's a beautiful colour imo - alternately burgundy or brownish under different lighting conditions.
