The earliest zippers used by Aero were unmarked British ones, cheapies I guess, with the sliders swapped to the American side and often re-fitted with old stock Talon or Conmar sliders. These were used exclusively from 1981-84 and occasionally until around 1986. Then we moved on to the big “A”, Aero branded zips which were made in Wales, these date from 1984/1985.
The Ailee zips, which were superb quality, were used from 1985 and along with Talon from 1986 onwards until Ailee went out of business around 1987.
