Fresh out of the box! Just arrived an hour ago. This was a stock CR in size 40. I think I’m diggin the fit and how I see it possibly breaking in down the road. One thing bugging me is the collar though, it appears like it’s cut wonky and almost too short? Instead of standing up straight like a normal stand collar, it’s like a circular onion ring type shape. Kind of pressing into the neck. Is this normal for Aero CR?

Also arrived with a couple scratches above the chest pockets which is kind of annoying.

I don’t own the Aero cafe racer, but the overall fit ‘works’, but seems maybe a touch too large?
Someone with more experience will probably chime in with better feedback.
My CR is a Schott, and it arrived with a couple scratches, but has since acquired several more with normal wear. Personally, it wouldn’t bother me much if the fit was what I wanted.

Better angle pic. 40 is the smallest I’ve ever taken in an Aero and I’ve been through more than few. No way I could squeeze into 38 unless it was a highwaymAn.

Especially the sleeves are too long - the body fit depends on personal taste....IMO it's still OK.

The collar is normal and needs training. It does seem a size too large but when the leather relaxes you may be able to get away with it.

Sizes are not a good indication of fit. In Aero I can wear a 38 to a 46 depending on the pattern and cut.

Good things first; I think the fit in the body is good. Not skin-tight but not too large either. I also like the broad shoulders as they are and you picked the best pocket set-up imho.

Sleeves are a bit long.

Now, take this with a grain of salt, because my taste in jackets is kind of off-meta.. but I would want this jacket to be significantly shorter in the body too. In the back, the jacket goes like half way over your backpockets... the longest I would want is ending right at the top end of the backpocket, so I can access that. 1" shorter to get there and I would go even farther and say 2" shorter, so it sits somewhere between belt line and back pocket.

Too big too long and the stitching on that collar is just a bit... underwhelming. I’ve seen better Aeros, honestly I’ll return it for a custom make if I were you.

I think the Café Racer has more of a V-shape than the Board Racer which is more trim.

In your fit photos, it looks like shoulder width is ok but it is a bit big in the chest area. Maybe a Board Racer would fit better?

I like the fit of this jacket in general.
The collar--It will break in.
The scratches- do not even worry about it.
Over time the cxl will lose an inch from the back length- always seem to.
Sleeve length- you will lose length from creasing and I personally really like the creased sleeve look.
The jacket could be a tad smaller but, the next size down would be too tight.
Nice jacket!!

Yea, I went longer on the sleeves/back to account for the creasing up fqhh. Didn't want a 25" back length that becomes 24" in a year. Can someone measure their CR collar and lmk. I'm getting only 1" tall whereas every other stand collar jacket I own hit about 1.5". Just looks different than Im used to and hopefully other owners will confirm its only 1" tall by design and not a flaw.

Have to agree with the majority of people here. It’s too big. Not a keeper IMHO.

Collar looks just like it did on any of my CR's.

As for the fit... Not great, not terrible. XD

I do agree that it's one size too large. I always say this but right now, the jacket doesn't look bad because it's still in its armor state. Once the shape gets broken in & leather softens, it'll look and feel three times too large.

I think a little long for my taste. May shorten some with wear as it creases. For me a jacket has to fit in the body and the wearer is the best judge. Jackets that were tight as hell looked the best in pics, but I could not stand to wear them. I think a normal/medium fitting jacket looks kinda big in pics at first and relaxes and drapes better in time. The fact you could not squeeze into a smaller size says this is right. Up to you on the length
