Hi loungers,

not a spectacular jacket, but I do not want to keep back to show you.

My last CR was a size 44 with 4 pockets and 2 inside pockets. From my point of view the jacket was too big and I noticed that I never used the horizontal breat pockets. So I orderer a 42 with only handwarmer pockets and 2 inside pockets. Like for the first one I asked for a thick vintage frontquarter horsehide. Without the breast-pocket the CR looks more casual from my point of view.

The jacket has slimmer arms in a 2 panel version, a leather strip at the buttom and satin overlay in the sleeves (very comfortabel to get in).

See the result:

Here the comparison to the size 44:

The fit of the back is the real big difference.

It is interessting to see the differences of the sizes 42 to 44. Perhaps that helps somebody.

The "big bi swing back" is very comfortable whenn riding a bike, but looks a little bit "big" when you are not sitting on a bike.

Cheers

Olli

Thanks for sharing Gancho! Looks great and fits you very well - my first Windward was also made of Vintage Black FQHH - first choice and love it!
BTW: This is YOUR jacket style but also like your A2 in brown FQHH as well.
Wear it in good health.

Sweet! Thats a knockout!
If I would have done things over again I would also have put satin in the arms and
I would also have chosen the 2-panel arms.

Did you add any length to it? Looks longer then mine and I added 1" to sleeves and body.

Great jacket and a great fit. Thanks for sharing this great no nonsense motojacket! I guess it is the same with buying a jacket as it is with building a house; you always need at least a second time to do it right!

You are right windward. my girlfriend also said that the CR is MY jacket. I love my A2 (Last summer i was wearing the A2 very often and i never get sick of being lucky with this lovely jacket) and my other jackets, too. They are in diifferent styles because i like to change my look from day to day.

Thanks Grif. yeah, i think my one is an inch longer than yours. in 2009 i went to Galashiels and Will took my measurement, so i never talk about sizing when i order a jacket. but perhaps the CR with handwarmerpockets are a bit longer.

Haha, same here. What I do nowadays is shave my whole head w/o the guard. Rather than try to hide from it I'm embracing it. Haha. I've also started growing facial hair to compensate. Don't think it's working very successfully tho.

Good evening,

Have you or are you planning to sell the 44?

Sorry gtdean, it is already sold. A lounger bought it after I have decided to go for this one.

Hi Tito, I love your B10! The size should be the same like the LHB. In November, after getting the CR in 44, I visited AERO by myelf to be measured by Will. So I do not know how many inches I have more in the arm and in the body. I just have to care not to grow!

I have learned that the women don´t care about hair or beuatiful faces ;-0. They are looking for real man, like we are ;-)))

Many regards

Great looking jacket. The 42 is definitely a better fit than the 44. I didn't know you could specify the number of panels to be used to make the arms. Did you specifically ask for 2 panels or did it just come that way?

Ha Ha.. that's my story too and I'm sticking to it :)

Very nice jacket Olli.. I hope the horsehide on the 42 was as perfect as it was on your size 44.. I remember when you were selling the size 44 jacket you were saying that the panels were so perfectly matched. Also, thanks for showing the difference between size 42 & 44.. it's more of a difference than I would have thought...

Thank you all for looking to my tread.
It is good to know that their are people with the same lovely folly.

Jepp, I asked for this detail. There are some AERO jacket with this sleeve panel construction: All A2, the HG-5 and some other flight jackets.

Happy Friday

Pefect fit Gancho, that's how a CR should look! I like the full bi-swing too.
I be very interested in knowing how much the jacket weighed if you could.
Ted.

Sorry I'm a little late to reply here, Olli, but wow!! What a nice cafe racer jacket!!!

Couple of questions regarding the 2 panel arm (I wasn't aware this was even an option until now):

1) Are there any advantages to having 2 panel arms? Are the arms possibly more roomy with 2 panels vs only 1 panel?
2) When you say 2 panel are you referring to how I see the stitched line going down each arm?

Enjoy the jacket in the very best of health!

I can answer that. Its 2-panel vs standard 3-panel.

It refers to the horizontal seam on the back of the arm.
It is there in the 3-panel and its gone in the 2-panel, making each arm consist of only the upper and lower panel without the extra panel and seam.

Nice one! Also prefer two pockets over four, but I went for the breast pockets only. I like the straight pockets better than the angled ones, but I also opted against the bi-swing back for the same reason that you stated above: it's just trimmer fitting without it. Granted, mine is not really made to be worn on a bike.

Anyway, the CR is the Aero that I wear the most and the way looks yours, your CR deserves the same attention.

enjoy breaking in your jacket and wear it in good health!
