Edit: I don't want to duplicate the discussion regarding this jacket, taking place here: http://thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?t=48300 This is purely about similar cuffs on Aero coats.

I like these button cuffs on the Bruce Willis jacket:

I also like the fit and style of the Aero coats (Veste, Stockman and Cheyenne).

So... bearing in mind that I don't give a fig about authenticity or historical accuracy; has anyone put this sort of functioning button cuff on these coats? Pics would be nice :)

Is this a ridiculous idea? Are functioning button cuffs suitable for jackets only?

I may have a problem replying (reading is OK) to any posts once I leave my current geographical address this evening, returning to Iceweasel (Firefox) under Linux.

With Aero, people tend to make the requests that they like. There's little hang up about spoiling an original pattern, etc.

Those cuffs are good traditional American leather jacket cuffs. Even Magnoli does a version of them in his Escape form New York jacket.

Button cuffs

I have button cuffs on my 30's bootlegger from Aero. They work fine, but there's really no added practical value. They certainly look nice, and yes, you can unbutton them, but I haven't actually found any use that's worth the hassle of wrestling with the FQHH.

Not sure how it would look on one of their less fitted styles, though I'd be interested to see when you get your jacket!
