Why?? Asking because I'm currently having a jacket that's not black on order and am constantly having doubts.

I fear that when I make my purchase I will that way about the style: a bootlegger or August? Whichever I choose I think I may regret . It's a curse

Because i just prefer black! Have always worn black, always have been a black kinda guy!

I love the brown jacket, and have really understood why people rave so much about the brown CXL FQHH, it is breaking in with so much depth, and is really looking amazing.
But i really want it to be black...

That's an easy fix. Buy both and hock the one you don't prefer. I did just that but in the most ass backwards way, where I sold the one I prefer, later bought it back and sold the other. See.. it's easy:confused:

I heard a fashionista once say that a brown-haired person should have a black jacket, a black-haired person should have a brown jacket, and blonds can wear whatever they like.

Seriously, though, it seems like the ultimate compromise would be to get a dark seal aero jacket because it is so dark it is practically black, but over time and break-in, the brownish character begins to show through and accentuates the leather.

Uhm... You *do* realise that God invented different coloured leathers so we can justify having more than one jacket in the same design? ;)

Wait, does that mean God invented red leather jackets?

Thank you all for the suggestions and thoughts. I might be wandering off the title of this thread (maybe I can change it?) but what kind of hardware would you add per colour?
Here my ideas:

Black: antique brass
Cordovan: brass or antique brass, here I am not sure, someone has some pictures of antique and shiny brass?

I've had antiqued brass before, but I now prefer shiny brass and letting it go naturally on everything. Also chrome on black. Never chrome on brown, unless milspec.
