Aero Board Racer in Seal Goatskin with Green OD Stitching and Liner

Goat Week continues with the arrival of my new Board Racer. I previously owned a BR in Black HH (size 42), but that's moved to a new home in Ohio when I realized that I wasn't really comfortable in that jacket. The new BR is a size 44, and feels like an old friend when I slip it on, partly due to the supple goat and partly due to the fit. The green stitching is really not noticeable unless you are close to the jacket. The seal color is a pretty dark, rich brown, and the goat shows some grain from the get-go and a bit more pebbling than my last Aero goat. Sleeves are 27".

I like the detail on the BR of the sleeve zippers being on top, although I don't like the zipper pulls falling down onto the top of my hands. I will probably remove or just shorten the leather pulls. I went with the antique hardware again, just a personal preference on brown jackets for me.

It's looking like a keeper. I will be doing a compare / contrast with the Langlitz goat over the next day or so.

This has definitely been your week! Fantastic looking jacket and companion to your Cascade from yesterday. I would be interested sometime in seeing measurements since my optimal sleeve measurement is just a tad over 27" and back measurement also 27" or just a tad under. Although my Mulligan and Maxwell are both size 42, I figure I would need a size 44 with a BTR.

That's nice! Love the goat and the OD stitching really is a nice touch. Like you say, it doesn't really stand out unless you get close. Aero's goatskin is great stuff.

Oh come on, man, I don't think I'd be able to keep track of all those jackets! :D

Perfect, perfect! Fantastic everything!!

I ended up just trimming the leather pulls on my BTR sleeves zips so they about an inch long and I usually leave about 1/2 inch of the sleeve zip unzipped when I wear it so the leather pulls don't flap against my wrist. Dont even notice it now.

Like everyone has said, great looking jacket and nice fit, trim but not tight. I see you went with the "standard" back design. Same as mine and its actually grown on me, despite some negative opinions from some members here. Was that due more to it being goat leather and only smaller panels are available or did you prefer the design?

I actually prefer the design, so I never inquired to see if they could make it with the larger back panel. I like the kidney panel look, even though it's not really functional.

That collar's really nice and simple. This is my favorite of the new styles. Looks great on you.

Thank you, I really like the collar on the board racer, it's clear that they put some time into it, and making it slightly tapered has to be much more challenging than just the same dimension all around.

Very nice jacket. I like this -- both the design and fit -- more than your Langlitz (I'm not a fan of asymmetrical zips).

You are single-handedly driving both this forum and the classifieds forum.

Alas......I don't believe I'll be ending up with a cast-off Board Track Racer.......

I agree with Superfluous, this jacket looks better than the other one, and the other one ain't no slouch!

What are you going to do next week to top these? :D

I am trying to decide if I want a straight zip Langlitz... I may have a black Aero Cafe Racer that's going to be for sale.

As for me, I like a lancer style zipper. It's one of the things that sets your Cascade apart from most other café racers.

Your quiver of leather has me in awe. Frankly, I lost count after number...... (what was that number, again?). Truly an impressive jacket.

Pawineguy, another gorgeous jacket. I wish I had your jacket-buying budget. I'd be, like you, buried in high-end leather goods. Goat is definitely on my "short list" of leathers I'd like to try.

Pawineguy,

ive been contemplating a board racer in black goat with a highwayman style collar.
I'm interested in how your size 44 board racer fits. Do you wear a 42 or 44 suit coat? Does it work for you as a casual jacket or is it restrictive at all? Do you happen to remember the chest and shoulder measurements.

It's a great look on you, nice addition to your collection!
