Aero Battered Tan Horsehide

Hey guys

I am considering getting a jacket made in the Aero Battered Tan Horsehide. I absolutely love the colour variation on that hide. It's bit of a toss between this and the Vicenza Russet.

Does have anyone have pics of a Jacket made in Battered Tan HH ?

Any idea if the Battered Tan HH a Full grain hide or Top grain since it's not Chromexcel.

I have cafe racer in battered tan. I'll post a photo Asap. It's a brilliant hide which runs from mid-brown to a deep beige at areas of wear. I reckon a LHB or Teamster in it would be the mutt's nuts.

I used to know someone with a battered tan Cafe Racer. It's an awful colour for a bike.

That would be great Zebedee ! Please do post pics of your battered tan ! Is it really beige ? cuz I thought it was more like a brown hide with yellow / orange undertones variations

Only in really worn areas. Mostly it's a warm light brown. The shots of the August on the Aero website are pretty much accurate- it's the colour of light tobacco. I'll post a pic when I get back home.

It would definitely suit a Teamster/Stockman or a shorter jacket. It's mid-weight (I think), but feels as tough as my FQHH Highwayman- in fact, I'd get any future Aero orders in mid-weight hides because they're much more flexible out of the box.

I wish Aero made a long, knee length coat. I think it would be perfect with this leather.

Would you say that's more Yellow Tan color or is it more Orange / Warm Brown like the Vanson Octagon ?

It's definitely a warm brown/orange more than yellow, but does have tints.. Initially, I was hoping that it'd be more yellowy, but now I'm glad it's not. It's the colour of dried tobacco- sort of like autumn leaves. I reckon the Octagon is probably more orange, but I've never seen it in person.

Thanks Zeb ! That's awesome. I was hoping that it'd be more warm brown / orange tone rather than yellow. To my eyes, it's a more richer colour ! I am considering a longer 1930s or Wayfarer made in this hide.

that's true ! or might just go with the good ol' 1930's half belt in that hide

Windstorm, don't forget that you can ask for swatches from Aero. I'm sure they'd be happy to oblige. I think you'll get more from those and gain a more visceral and tactile appreciation/sense for your comparison than just a 2-D image that can vary greatly depending on light and the camera used.
