Aero Arctic B-3 questions

Hi all,
New guy here. Been lurking a while, and finally decided to join this great community.
I love leather of all kinds, and jackets are becoming something I'm almost obsessed with, as much as one can without taking the plunge yet. ;)
I've been reading threads, visiting many websites, and generally trying to get familiar with all this fun stuff.
Anyway, folks here seem very kind and knowledgeable. So, I'd like to know what you think of this jacket, and how to care for it. It's one of many i have sights on. I have some real 1930's Army Air force gear, which my son and I collect. It's for a WWII collection, not to use. But I fell in love with the Army Air Force arctic wear in non-tanned white lamb.
I'm thinking of getting one made, and while I live in SoCal, I do visit colder places frequently.
How would I care for this? Is it more fragile than tanned versions?

Thanks!
Scott

I think the main concern with that type of B-3 is that the sheepskin is unfinished. I think you would need to be careful as the leather surface would tend to soak up anything that it was exposed to (dirt, oils, etc.). It probably won't be a huge issue but something to consider.

Are you sure you visit colder places from time to time? B3s are incredibly warm and are almost unwearable even in northern Germany (same latitude as Nova Scotia...). But if you feel the itch you will have to scratch it sooner or later... In order to keep the unfinished panels clean and spotless I would recommend an aerosol (no pun intended). Get a big can of the stuff that's used for waterproofing suede, nubuck etc. Buy quality stuff only. It repells dirt very well and occasional spots can be removed very easily.
BTW: Welcome to this place. Be prepared to spend a fortune in the nxt couple of years...

Thanks Mark.
I got in touch with Lost World, and because I'm a larger guy (not fat) they pretty much talked me out of buying a jacket from them. I was kinda shocked. I was looking at the $1400 B3, and thought they'd want my business. i was wrong!

How about this, sheepskin version:

I had a white shearling like those artics a long time ago. WARM and NICE. Went off to the special leather cleaning people once----and they were good no more. Sad.
So you do want to find the right way to take care of them yourself.

Mark
