I hadn't been intending to do so as I thought that the sleeves would 'shorten' through creasing and wrinkling as the leather breaks in.

That "tunneling" may be exacerbated in the photos due to the jacket being unzipped....
It will shorten about a half inch or so from wear. Its always a matter of preference, but if your having the jacket redone you may wish to consider how you like the sleeve fit. As I recall, there isn't much taper to the sleeve on that contract.
