Catch and release after a great buying experience with fast shipping from one of the regulars.
I just can’t quite fill out the shoulders, plus not quite comfy in black leather, though I wanted to give it a try!

Very thick Horsehide with unknown years of natural wear, teacore showing through beautifully. Stands up on its own with little to no “positioning”. Roomy at the bicep/elbow.

Light oxidation at working zipper and a couple spots of deeper wear. Brand-new scratches on rear right shoulder from a neighborhood cat that interrupted my photo shoot. Listen we both kinda freaked out. I tried to push him off, he latched on (see photo).

Leather has a waxy feel, it appears to have been previously treated/coated. A mild smell up close from treatment that isn’t objectionable. Measurements per previous owner in pics.

If there is interest, I’ll add measurements at waist with halfbelt cinched and relaxed. IMG_6392.jpeg

$625 shipped CONUS only. Zelle/Venmo.

Weekend bump with some fit pics.

A little more detail on front zipper, it takes some extra seconds to engage, partly due to surface oxidation and partly the thick somewhat unyielding leather that surrounds it.

Wish I knew the age of this jacket. Maybe vintage-ish territory? I’m starting to like it, but sigh. Collection needs trimming.

I believe it is wool, textured like tweed but without a herringbone pattern. An Aero expert could probably give the proper name. See pics.
Tweed doesn’t necessarily have to have a herringbone pattern to be tweed and from the photos the lining in your jacket looks to be a Donegal tweed called Barleycorn.
As the name might suggest Donegal tweed is from Ireland, as opposed to Harris tweed which can only be made in a very specific region of Scotland.
Both Donegal and Harris tweeds are 100% wool.
The Aero Leather website has a link to a pdf with details of the various linings they offer, tweed, tartan or otherwise:

Nice jacket! Can that issue with the zipper be cleaned up? have you tried? Those scratches on the shoulder, etc., are they actually gouges into the leather? I'm guessing that's why this jacket has taken awhile to sell. How tall are you, so I can gauge the length properly. I'm 6'1" so would the jacket be too short. Often my issue with Aero jackets off the rack.
Thanks. Mark

Thanks Mark, the shoulder scratches penetrate the smooth outer skin, but do not go beyond that. I’m 5’-9”. I like back length, but I prefer a little more front drop.
However I am marking this sale Pending, will update soon. Thanks!
