I am looking for an AB Raiders/Henry hat between a 7 1/4 - 7 3/8. Let me know what is available and what you're willing to sell for. I want the hat but I'm not willing to wait like the stories I've read.

Thanks!

And I apologize in advance if this breaks any kind of forum protocol but I didn't see one listed recently except what I apparently just missed on eBay.

SC, if you want a Henry, I believe John Penman still has some in stock. You might want to check in with him.

For an Adventurebilt, I ordered one earlier this year and Steve made it in about 6 weeks. He turns new orders around quite quickly.

Thank you, DJH. I didn't realize that Steve at Adventurebilt was turning them around so quickly now. I read some horror stories but they seemed to be when he would have been more inundated from the last movie in the series. It takes a lot for me to drop that kind of money without getting anything in return but your information reassures me. It would be nice to know that it was made specifically for my dome!

Would you post a pic of your lid that Sreve made, please?

More pics here!

Best way to contact Steve is via the email address on his site. He'll let you know what his current leadtime is. I must confess, I was a little concerned with sending off the payment, but the hat arrived a little sooner than I was expecting.

Mine is the beaver felt version in the style of film #4, he also has a rabbit felt model that is less expensive - some of the Indiana Jones fans say the rabbit Raiders is closer to the film hat. I've never seen the movies so I don't know, I just like the hats! I do know that for the movie where Steve made the hats (#4) the fedoras he supplied were beaver.

That is one beautiful hat!!! And btw, you have to watch at least the first film! I'm a fan but I haven't seen the 4th one yet. The first is a fine film though.

See, I can only "afford" the rabbit hat at best at the new price and there's my concern again, that the cheaper hat may get a much longer lead time and then get lost in his shuffle. I'd rather wait and get one on the secondary market than get soaked for my hard earned cash. The other hat you told me of is a sweet hat as well but I like the thought of mine coming off of the block of the first film hat and made by the man who made the hat good enough for the last film.

I know this is off topic--but, I just saw a review of the Peters Bros. (out of Fort Worth) soft rabbit Raider hat last night on youtube. Seems to be pretty nice and the price isn't too bad. That might be an option...you can even pick your movie and/or scene.

Sadly, I'm still waiting on one I ordered in November 2007. Last response on I had on it was about 14 months ago. I've stopped my wife from pursuing legal action on more than one occasion, but if I hit the 5 year point in November, I won't intervene the next time she gets the urge...
