Thanks for that information, Billy and by the way I like your new Adam acquisitions. When I was originally searching the forum on vintage hat makers and they kept putting Adam at the bottom it helped me form an opinion of them. But with my own Adam coming, I am looking forward to being proven wrong.

Also, in my eyes your approaching Brad Bowers - Cavanagh status.

Cheers

Great info, Billy. Thanks for all of your work on this! :eusa_clap

As far as trademark registrations go, the trademark application will list a "date of first use" -- which may help to fine tune when these logos actually first appeared on Adam hats.

Cheers,
JtL

Adam logos

Many thanks for this sort of info, Billyspew, and for posting so much on this thread. I've got a couple of Adams' on the way from Jonnyphi - didn't check out his stock until most of the gems had gone :eusa_doh: - but very much looking forward to joining the Adam Alley soon.

You have some really nice hats, by the way..... (as if you didn't already know that!)

Most of my Adam ads are too small to read the model names. I'm not sure if this model of hat is the Mr. Main Street, or if that's just the "look" that the hat will give the wearer.

Edit: Apparently, it's either part of a line of hats, or a campaign that includes Mr Boulevard.

Seriously, some great colours and proportions in there, especially the Newport.

A new old stock Adam Porkpie

Hi all

This is a new Adams that I picked up from ebay. Original price tag of $8.95 is still in there and I have to say, it is the loosest 7 1/4 I've tried on. I still think I prefer it brim snapped down, but maybe it'll grow on me. When I snap the brim up, it reminds me of Jon Cryer in Sixteen Candles. I know he had big hair and it wasn't a porkpie, but it's the connotation of geeky best friend that I don't like.

Looks good there munchausen, up or down. Welcome to the club, you got a steal there.

Any chance of posting the detailing on the liner, sweatband and anything under the sweatband?

Hi Billy

Nothing besides the tags under the sweat. I've seen photos where there's writing from the makers. I'll post the pics up with shots of the liner. Sorry the lighting's bad and when you stick a camera over it to take a shot, it diminishes further (ie. too lazy to get the torch from the garage).

In the last pic, size tag broke off as I played with the sweat. It's maroon coloured with gold lettering. "Adam 7 1/4"
