A visit with The Major

Heres the shot I posted in the What hat are you wearing thread, of Mike and me.

I have to tell you while I was there we discussed a new hat and I looked at some felt colors. [more to come later]

Mike cut the brim on my bone colored hat down from 2 3\4 to 2 1\2.

I also met a very nice man by the name of Bob. Let me tell you this is a man that knows his hats.
He was glad to have found Mike, because like us he was tired of the low crowned tapered box hats.
He is picking up his first custom.
We both told him about the Lounge so hopefully we will have him join us soon!!

This is a few shots of some of the cool Native bead work for hat bands and the last shot is of a leather bound brim that Mike did the tool work on and bound on one of his hats.

This is a new friend of mine that I usually get to see when I visit.
He does great leather work.

I'm envious, R. Wish I could have been there with you. Did you happen to catch a glimpse of Mike's green hat he's making for me? Can we see that cut down brim on your noggin? Interesting how we're coming round to that shorter brim, don't you think?

I have a 100% beaver dress hat, that has a killer hat ribbon and a bound edge on it, that has a work ticket showing it's headed up North real soon!!!!
I did not let Rusty see the hat, I did not want to take a chance of you seeing the hat that way, you will have to wait till it arrives.

Yep the shorter brims really appeal to me now... long as they are not too short.
