Cool photos Red Devil. I have seen that accordian type gusseting before on some earlier Thedi jackets.

I saw a distant image of the Pea Coat also in their instagram page and I'd like to see a full image. It looked nice.

I like that he is doing more styles. I want a button front like that German inspired coat but shorter for my 5' 8 " size.

Like @red devil mentioned, I joined him and his lovely wife to this excursion to Thedi shop in Thessaloniki.

I must say I was blown away by all the jackets at display in the shop! so many new and old styles, also some not yet at his webpage and huge selection of different leathers in various colours and finishes: deer, cow, horse, buffalo, goat, sheep, shearling etc.

I have kept Thedi in high regard in the past, but seeing all his creations in real life made me think that he is quite probably the most creative and original jacket maker out there at the moment! The attention to detail is absolutely brilliant! You really need to see these jackets in real life to truly appreciate what Theodoros is doing.

Unfortunately I was overwhelmed by the overload of beatiful jackets on forgot to take lots of pictures like I intended.

However I did not forget to order new jackets!

I have on order black Shinki cross button, black Italian hh peacoat, green buffalo/military canvas cross button and a A-1(ish) style made of military canvas and camouflage leather(!).

Here is the black italian hh peacoat:

Here’s the cross button model that I’ll have made of green buffalo and green canvas:

Thedi won me over months ago with especially a couple of their designs. In fact I sold many of my other top tier leather jackets since I was so thrilled with the washed buffalo with bees wax finish. It just feels like a leather jacket should in my opinion. Not shiny but not a flat finish. Not spongy or soft but not really stiff. I would say crisp and shaped. The stitching is impeccable and the added niceties such as hvy corduroy pocket lining, etc. is cool. Thedi also incorporates other special stock additions that other makers just do not offer.

Thanksfully @Jejupe had a pic of it

This jacket is the basis of the next long term one :D

The gent truly is an artist. He took a common form and molded it into his own thing. I think I need one of these soon!

Could not agree more. The word artist has been overused for years, but in this case it simply fits.

been drooling around this jacket for years. i guess gonna make one but without applications =) amazing jacket!

You would not regret it :D

The jacket I ordered directly is a mix of German and British style, pretty unique as well. I have been curious about German styles as they really had some interesting models. any resources on this?

Thedi's ealy dayswre a bit too modern for me, but as they've gone on they seem to have gone more vintage

He's been going back through time I think. He clearly has been doing a lot of research to feed his inspiration. What I like about him, is that so far that creativity is endless. He is the only maker that has kept things fresh for so many years. Every new batch of jackets has some gems that I want.
He also has the quiet confidence of someone who has created many styles but still has so much to offer.

Too bad he doesn’t have an off the rack sales model (web store), especially given the large amount of stock he seems to have. Or are those for display purposes only? The one thing that scares me a bit is the wait time.

Last week I finalized an order with Carrie for a shawl collar. She said 2-4 months, which seems reasonable. Thurston doesn’t have a ton of models but it did help with sizing—the XXL fit jacket I tried was perfect, I just wanted a different leather. Thedi jackets are very impressive in person.

I dunno about german stuff, saw some jackets here in there, but nothing special. For me is more like a mix of old ENG motorcycle jackets and i even think US m-65 field jacket is kinda close to this one (well 4 pocket config, overall shape). And i really love this style in a mix of green and brown. Im even thinking to add some chainstitch embroidery on the back. Like some fancy skull and bones in golden or orange color etc... Gosh. so many ideas =)

Yep they were all samples or prototypes. What was the jacket that took the longest from the day you ordered it?

I’ve never ordered directly from Thedi. Just based on what I’ve seen from other members waiting on their jackets. The longest wait time I ever had for a jacket was nine months from Vanson, When they lost my order.

Just look up Thedi Leathers on FB or the internet and send them an email. They have photos and instructions on line. Can't imagine anyone being displeased with Thurston Bros. Of course mistakes and mishaps can happen.

It seems that most of his stuff is artificially distressed/aged. Is that true?

He does have a waxing (or washing) technique that makes leather look aged but it’s not “distressing” in the typical sense. (From what I understand anyway).

But that’s a specific leather style request, he definitely does untreated leather as well.

You would not wait as long of this even in the worst case scenario. He has been in the business for over 30 years, so he is pretty much set in a pace that suits him.

As said here, it's mainly washing and playing with leather, hence why it looks natural as opposed to typical distressing. Also just ask for untouched leather (which I did with a couple of mine)

Thanks all. It does look extremely well done and must be well received since it appears on most of his jackets. Good to know an “untouched” option is available for all of his styles, not just the few I have seen, most of which came out of TB.
