Welcome!
When you are ready the jacket will find youI posted it as a reply to another post, but it was not relevant to the subject matter, so I'm re-posting it here for the edification of some and grim amusement of others:
Dammit, man. I haven't even been hanging out here all that long, and already am going garmental--reading irrelevant posts with great interest; ebaying at the moon and seriously thinking about things I don't need with money I don't have; and in general turning into some kind of a jackety-jack drooling fool. Is this how it starts with everyone here?

That'll be a long time coming.I came here as a Newboys cap wearer...I now own three Fedoras!!!! It's just not fair!!! Once the ladies go bonkers over me with a fedora, I'll forgive everyone!!!!
I can still hope in my old age...……..That'll be a long time coming.
I've been trying to manage my addiction by setting clear ambitions. Round 1, need the essentials. That's a 1) cross zip biker, 2) café racer, 3) a2, and 4) long driving style coat. I've already got 1, 2, and 4 (Aero Hooch Hauler, newly acquired Aero Cafe Racer, and Alexander Leathers Montana). 3 will come soon enough, I'm sure.
But here's where I'm feeling the disease take root. I'm thinking, well I've got this beautiful Russet cross zip, why not get a classic Schott Perfecto, for a great price on ebay of course? Then I'm sure I'll add a highwayman or another straight zip in there. And so round 2 begins.
And then the distinctions become more and more precise...
Greetings. I've found out that you had diagnosed this affliction as the TFL Effect, and that I am a textbook case. I've been weighing two options: I could flee into the wilderness, wearing a Members Only jacket as penance, or I could stick around The Fedora Lounge and order another shot of whiskey and Kool-Aid. It is a difficult choice. You are in the right place, among like minded, similarly compulsive, equally deranged individuals. Your adventure has only just begun. Buckle-up and enjoy the ride.
Said the man on the internet.Stay off the internet and you will save money.
It has already found me, but in our climate I won't be able to wear it until mid-November. I need another, lighter jacket to find me now. When you are ready the jacket will find you
I could flee into the wilderness, wearing a Members Only jacket as penance
Truly a garment fit for a blooming idiot.Lol. Thats a pretty severe punishment. Although it could be worse . . . you could be forced to flee into the wilderness wearing a BK jacket.
Hold your horses BK fans . . . I'm only kidding . . . harmless wisecrack . . . Andy, no need to flog me on FB.
If you were to flee into the wilderness wearing a Members Only jacket, it would have to be this one:
I’d have quickly asked her if she had any of his hats!Depends on your age. I was complimented by an attractive much younger woman. I was well pleased until she spoiled the moment by adding that I reminded her of her grampa!
That is the other thing that age does to me.....slows my thinking down!I’d have quickly asked her if she had any of his hats!

You aren't even scratching the surface...you haven't mentioned the need for each of those in a different colour
Yeah, but look at it this way: now you've got a car! Just stay away from that Thedi thread and you'll be okay. How much do you think you could get for the Mini? You're doomed. When you're not thinking of jackets, you're dreaming of them.
I've been well over a year jacket sober with only minor relapses (a jacket given to me by another member so that is out of my control) and the withdrawal symptoms are still there. I'm still alive but not quite enjoying life the same had I been buying jackets!!
It's only a problem when you get caught hiding new purchases from your SO by keeping them in the office. Hypothetically speaking, of course.
