Which Garnier Intense Red was this? I adore it!
Last time I used one of the Garnier intense reds, which looks like this

I said "What about this?"

and he said "OK". And I am fairly sure he knows that it is just the hair I was talking about!

This cracked me up! My husband loves Christina Hendricks (he definitely has a "type" and CH and Nigella fall into that category if that tells you anything). I've given up using photos of her for reference because I know he can't focus on her hair, much less what I'm trying to ask him. :D

That's amazing! I believe Christina plays a bit on one episode of Mad Men, I had no idea it was really her. Your niece and her accompanist are very talented :)
We're just getting in to Mad Men on Netflix. I wondered if she ever played in public.

I did know she had the accordion as one of her accomplishments! I am STILL trying to get the hair right though. My current shade was described by my beloved as "the colour of orangutan fur"

Aren't men candid. That's where Aussie's get the term "rangas" from, isn't it?

Just this morning I tried out John Frieda's new foam color, the light red-brown 6R shade. I have several boxes because after coupons & a sale, I got them for around $2/box. The box looks like almost a burgundy shade, but I love the way it turned out! A gorgeous and very natural medium-auburn, not too brown or dark at all. I'll try to take a photo to post after my hair is totally dry.

I feel like I have posted on here before but can't seem to find my post so I guess I didn't. Anyway I usually use Loreal Intense Red Copper, I love it, but ever 3 or 4 months I use Garnier Nutrisse Rich Auburn Blond, the second color is just a bit closer to crimson than the other

Hairdressers: How can I achieve this color? I know it looks like it has high lights but I'm more interested in the base red color.

Any help would be so much appreciated!

^ Is that Adele?

Right now I'm obsessed with Christina Hendricks hair from the Emmys. It seems a little darker than her usual copper red/blonde. I'm a natural redhead, but my hair has more brown-auburn tones. I have fair skin with gold undertones, dark brown eyes, and freckles. I've had it really red before, so I'm pretty sure I can pull it off.

Anyone have any suggestions what over-the-counter box color might be close?

Grant Fan, I promise I'm not a stalker, but I *love* your color in this post and it looks really similar - would you mind telling me which one you used? Here's the post I'm talking about: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/show...air-do-s....&p=1307207&viewfull=1#post1307207

I'm looking at the colour on the non-highlighted underneath sections of her hair, and I don't think that's a red base. Given that she has blonde highlights, it most likely isn't - If it was, the blonde would take on some of the red and look pink when washed (which is why they aren't usually combined). It looks to me like a warm, medium toned chestnut, which may shine reddish under bright lights.

She's mentioned a few times that she uses Superior Preference's Intense Red Copper (Not that I'm a stalker either...) I've used it too, and I would recommend it to copy Christina's colour.
