A couple years ago I saw a snub nosed revolver with an unusually long cylinder and inquired about what round it took. The guy told me it could use a .45 long colt or a .410 shot gun shell  . I'm kinda surprised that it hasn't shown up in some movie.

i believe that is the 'Taurus Judge'...i've read taurus designed it specifically for close quarters defense like car-jacking and home-defense and of course snakes if you're out in the wilderness...it is devestating at close range...

sorry dhermann for posting that pic, and anyone who might not care for it...

I'm not trying to be political, but I am a Parole Agent who deals with just sex offenders. Ladies, please find some way to protect yourselves. I am in this unit because I've gotten sick of seeing lives and families shattered by these predators. Okay, I'm off my soapbox and back on my meds........

Fourthed. Whether folks believe in owning guns or not, they should surely know how to protect themselves. :eek:fftopic: When I signed up for a self-defense class, one guy told me it was a waste of time--that if some 300 lb guy jumped me, nothing I could do would stop him, and I was just giving myself a "false sense of security." It occurred to me later (I never manage to think of these things in the moment) that if a 300 lb guy jumped him, he probably wouldn't be able to do anything about it, either. But he'd sure as hell fight.

OK, back on topic: DeaconKC, great pics. It makes me remember my grandmother's stories of the south Bronx, back in the day... That generation was tough as nails, for sure. Kisses to your dad!

The Judge came out this year '07/'08 IIRC. If it was any longer ago than that, the gun was probably the "Thunder Five", a one-off not by a major manufacturer.

It came out in the mid-90's, real rough workmanship, horrible trigger, basically a blued brick.

The Judge is a much better iteration of the concept.
