I wouldn't worry about manliness. At some bars, anything in a Martini glass (or any similar stemmed glass, really) will get you heckled for drinking a lady's drink. I think a Sidecar would be perfectly acceptable to ask for any time you'd normally ask for a Martini. It does seem like a fairly classy offering. I'll try one next time I'm on a date.
