A Dobbs model question

I tried on a light tan straw Dobbs with a brown ribbon and brown piping around the brim yesterday. It resembled a stingy, but I neglected to get the actual name. I believe the model number is 71164 and the hat retailed for $118. Any help would be great.

Hello

When you say piping do you mean a bound edge? 71164 doesn't mean anything currently.. it could be old, or the numbers are mixed up

Does 611479 sound familiar?

I favor Dobbs in terms of straw hats, and I have found many models that are only carried by one or two vendors. You may have encountered such a hat. I haven't bumped into it so far. [huh]

I have a Latte and, given that it's a synthetic milan, it's a pretty good hat! The saving grace is that it is a softer weave than most of the new plastic straw hats, and it doesn't have as much of a sheen. It's definitely a more contemporary hat.

Gotta get those brands correct.

It looks like it has a twill (I'm assuming cotton, but it could be other materials) sweatband. I have two fedoras with cotton twill sweatbands, they are extremely comfortable and absorb sweat very nicely.

Thanks for the positive remarks. This is my first "nice" hat and I'm quite pleased with it. I live in San Francisco and the weather allows me to wear something like this most of the year.
