Hi guys and gals,

I thought you might be interested is seeing some of my custom figures, I repaint the heads and weather/distress the clothing/equipment using various techniques to make them more realistic than the out of the box toy looking "dollies"
My work is going to be featured in a couple of modelling books in the new year.

Many thanks for looking:)

This is a depiction of one of the Long Range Desert Group's officers during the desert theatre.

Absolutely astonishing! I hope you will share with us the specific issues, so we can pick them up.

I don't think I've ever seen better work.

That is some fne detail work. Thanks for sharing these with us.

Years ago I did an entire troop of Star Wars Rebel Soldiers in planet Hoth gear. I'll have to find them.

Amazing work!

Are these repaints (out of the box dolls you repaint--and if so, which dolls do you use?) or do you actually create the figures?

Do you create the clothes and accessories as well?

Fantastic stuff. I've seen quite a few of the BBI figures and the painting you have done has improved them dramatically.

I guess they are BBI, then. Actually, I've got a figure a lot like the first one tucked away somewhere. He's a Brit in Egypt with shorts and sandals -- also with that exquisite M1928 "Thonsom Submachinl Gun." :p

O'd really like to see more - and BBI? What is?

It's a brand of action figures I believe--the WWII ones are usually 12" tall.

There's a whole group of people who remove the factory paint and repaint the faces to look more realistic, create more authentic outfits for the characters, etc. People use different dolls/action figures as the basic "clay" for this endeavor.

I've tried my hand at repainting faces in the past and it's really difficult to do well, especially in the 12" size (there are 16" and 18" figures as well outside of the WWII realm).

I hope that helps.

WOW!!!

I missed this thread originally.. I hope this incredible modeller will post more!

Do you do commission work? I'd love some models of the comic characters I'm working on...

Again, wow...
