Great timing!

what a wonderful article!
I am writing an article on Spanish Combs for the Art Deco Society of California's magazine, so it is great to have another resource!

Wow! Great article and gorgeous photos. It's unbelievable they had 4500 at one time and even now still have 3000. They must have combed all corners of the globe to find them lol

Sorry, couldn't resist:)

On a serious note, I wonder, if one of the ladies contacted them, if they would like to send the Lounge a full set of photos and documentation for posterity, given that their impulse sort of dovetails with the Lounge.

I'm looking at you Miss 1929. :D

Speaking of articles, if you took your research in a less specific direction MK might like to use an article for Classic Style.

Yes, why not? I am planning to pick their brains for the article anyway! I have a bit of a collection myself, and that combined with the theme for the next Art Deco Preservation Ball (April 26 2008) which is La Fiesta Grande (think 20s/30s with Latin flair) led the powers that be to ask me to do a comb-specific article. But I am up on deco fashions from the neck down as well... i would love to be published in Classic Style!

Yes - that's a hobby you really have to seek your teeth into!

I can't resist either.

Nice combage!

That missing tooth never shows once it's ensconced in your tresses...
My goodness, that is a HELL of a comb in that Ebay auction! I downloaded all those pictures right away!
I have a couple that big, they definitely take care in wearing - not good with compact cars!
The Art Deco Preservation Ball next spring has a theme of "La Fiesta Grande", so all of us will be sporting the comb action... see events for details!

Fake hair!

Those are Beautiful. I have on vintage comb and I'd probably have more if I had more hair.

As long as you have a tiny ponytail to anchor it to, you can do a big fake hair bun and no one will know. All the glamour of long hair and none of the bother!

That's a good idea. I am going to try that this week. I've been dying to wear the comb ever since I purchased it.

my comb

Here is a picture of the comb I got to where on my wedding day, I just love it! And the best part is you can slide the comb off and it has a pin on the back so you can where it! I thought that was such a cool idea, but it's HEAVY!
