Got another one, this time off of E-bay for a good price. It's an older 1990's Eastman house veg tanned HH, seal with redish undertones. The knits are good and the hide is starting to get a patina going. The hide is much lighter in weight than a US auth. but the US Auth is much grainier. Here's some pics of both for comparison for you guys looking at getting one, or the other for that matter. The fit on each is completely different from the other. The Eastman is cut slimmer and neater but not binding, the USA is looser, but can be worn with a sweatshirt or such. I hasd A G&B which is a totaly loose and modern fit. (the darker one is the Eastman). The last pick is of my old man in Africa durring WWII. I'm thinking of doing the eastman up like his was. Cheers!!
P.S.
Fletch,
I am sorry if I insulted you with my comment about the cockpit. They make a realy nice repro of the AVG if you like that stuff. It is a beautiful jacket. I contacted American Mysique about it a while ago. The earlier contract repros, usualy pre war, are tighter fitting. Thier AVG is a pre war pattern, the torso is trimmer and the sleeves are closer, not so baggy. It retails at about $380 with all the patches. They won't make it without the patches, I already asked.
