A-2 from US Authentic

Got interested in the A-2 jackets and internet research brought me to this forum. After emailing with Mr. Dover for a couple of weeks, decided to order an A-2 Horsehide Seal Brown, size 40R. Everything looked good, except for the sleeve lenght - too long. And I decided to do some custom changes. I returned it last Friday and hope to get my "replacement" jacket in a couple of weeks. I ordered the new one with sleeves that are 1 inch shorter, 2 inside chest pockets with leather trim on the opening, thinsulate (arm and body). I'm not one for "authenticity". I just want a great all around jacket that has the good looks of the A-2. Anyway, thanks for all the opinions and suggestions and pictures in this forum. It helped me decide My next purchase will be the G-1, don't know when yet. I'll post pictures when I get it.

the custom a-2 cost me $500. horsehide was an extra $100 from the stock goat, and the custom work is another $100. oh well, its worth it for a jacket that will last a good long time

I just ordered one an hour ago and they are now $394. It cost $23.00 to ship it to the west coast.

good luck with your new jacket you will like it....i had my horsehide noe for 3 months and breaking in well......i have a a2 goatskin from flight suites that jacket is nice to. had that jacket for 2 years.....my nexet jacket will be a gi i think i will get it from flight suites....they have a nice catalog........i looked at u.s mfg. gi really never saw a good picture of it......

you add customization fees of $100 and it's now $494, which is what i paid for mine. Hoping to get it by end of next week.

Got my jacket!

just want to let you all know that i got my US A jacket. took 2 weeks for the custom work. the jacket is awesome. smells great i'm glad i got the custom work i did because now, the jacket is fully functional for me. warm because of the thinsulate, have room for my odds and ends with the 2 inside chest pocket, and sleeves fits better because i got it shortened by an inch. definitely NOT even close to authentic anymore but it sure is a fine functional jacket with LOTS of style

with the kind of service i got from shaul, i'm definitely going to order a g-1 for next christmas

Can you post some pictures? I have one of their A2s in medium brown goatskin. I am curious as to the difference in shade between the med brown goat and the seal horse. I'm thinking about selling my goat on ebay and buying the horse. Then again, maybe I'll just save up and get an Aero. Anyway, congrats on getting the perfect jacket for you.
