Another very cool, very unique hat. I've never seen this sort of black rainbowed heather velour-ish finish before, and I wish the bound brim was wider. I measure it to be 1 3/4" when flattened. The hat is in very good condition, with some yellowing in the liner.
I seem to remember a soft spot, about an eighth of an inch in diameter, not visible at all but if you run your fingers over it you might feel it-- seems like a little wear from the front pinch.
I don't know exactly what kind of ribbon this is. It's wide, and looks a lot like Petersham, but the edge is finished, not scalloped.
