Let's sell some hats:
Tan Knox Superfine 7 1/4 Vintage Fedora Hat
http://www.ebay.com/itm/331414891174?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
Knox made some beautiful hats throughout the 30s, 40s, 50s, and even the 60s. This fun Superfine from the late 40s or early 50s shows the great lines and style that come with a vintage hat--and it shows, too, that a well-loved hat can survive, even with a little hard traveling along the way. Look at the gorgeous rust/brown ribbon--scuff mark and all--and check out the natty snap brim.
There is no smell to the hat. There are stains and moth bites (hate to say it, but that bite in the top goes right through) as you can see from the pictures, so a good cleaning would probably be a nice thing. The sweatband is in good shape--supple with no cracks, although it has separated a little from the front of the hat. The liner is in great shape, and the complementing bound brim also looks good. It might not be in perfect condition, but it's a perfectly good 100% fur felt vintage fedora!
Crown: 4 1/2" (as creased)
Brim: 2 5/8"
Ribbon: 2"
Head opening: 7 7/8" x 6 1/2"

Khaki Green Lee Trinity 7 1/4 Vintage Fedora Hat
http://www.ebay.com/itm/331414898229?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
Lee hats are the hidden secret of hats from the 40s-60s--these budget-priced hats deliver quality and style even without a well-known label. The Trinity, this model, offers a bound edge, a complementing ribbon, and a hat color all in the same spectrum--in this case, working from a khaki green. The hallmarks of this hat point to the late 50s or early 60s as a time of production. There are no smells or stains and only two moth bites on this 100% fur felt hat, and the sweatband is in awesome soft shape. With a brim on the fine side of stingy and with great bones, this hat speaks to Sinatra's style and Don Draper's great looks.
Crown: 4 1/2" (at the highest point as creased)
Brim: 2 1/8"
Ribbon: 1 1/2"
Head opening: 8 1/8" x 6 3/8"

Cavanagh hats were the top of the top from the 20s onward. They represented the height of style and fashion, and this hat will easily show you why. A 100% fur felt gray hat with a nice bit of taupe in it, this hat offers perfect proportions between crown, brim, and ribbon, and its liner and label place it right at the end of the 50s--and of course it has a cavangh edge! Not all vintage hats are perfect, and you can see from the pictures that the sweatband here is pretty well shot. Still, I've left it in so you can decide what to do with it. This hat has no odor to it, and there are no stains or moth bites. This hat is certainly ready to wear, and it's going to help you look good this holiday season!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/331414903672?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
Knox made some great hats in the 50s! Check out this 100% fur felt gray (with a tendency toward blue) fedora, for instance. The complementing ribbon and the underwelt brim treatment show you that this hat can make any outfit really pop. A lot of eBay auctions will try to tell you that their hats are PERFECT! FLAWLESS! NEVER WORN! And I'll tell you what--NONE of that is true here. This was a hat that was worn, and you can see marks of wear on the sweatband, for instance, although the sweat is still supple and soft. You can also see a few good moth bites here--but hey, the moths, like you, have good taste, and the bites don't detract from the lines of this hat. The felt here is thick and lovely, too. I'd want to take a bit of it myself. This hat is ready to wear, although a cleaning wouldn't hurt, so imagine yourself in this great lid this holiday season!
