As much as it pains me ... The time has come for me to purge my collection of the pieces that do not fit.

I love this hat but I am finally admitting to myself that it is far too tight and it needs to go to the home of someone who it fits

She is a "camel" color
7 1/8 Penneys Marathon from the 1950s
Crown is 4 1/2 bashed
Brim is 2 1/2 with a bound edge
Ribbon is 1" with a nice unique "shark gill" bow ... See pics

Condition is very good
A couple very minor moth spots .

It wears really well and holds a beautiful bash

It comes in a Penneys Marathon box w insert
It is not the original box but it is period correct.
The box is marked Silverbelly 7 3/8 which the hat clearly is not

Feel free to PM me with any questions

I'm asking $115.00 shipped .... This price for loungers only

Take a look

Beautiful, Moon! That will make someone very happy! Sadly, it's too small for my melon.

yeah ... she is a sweet one

It's my size, but some prior purchases are keeping me from buying it. Would love to ad it to my collection, but I'll have to let this one pass.

you would love this one ... but I totally understand your situation

thanks for checking it out guys

If that really were a 3/8...

Marathons are consistently some of the most beautifully formed hats out there. But normally any less that a 1/4 is a no-go for me. Any chance you could post measurements of the opening?

It sure is, I'm quite looking forward to when it shows up at my door! This will be a nice change from my re-bashed, re-ribboned 1953 silverbelly Open Road and my Panama Bob Cuenca. It won't be long though before it's way too cold up here for any hat that doesn't cover the ears. Then the muscrat "Mountie" hat comes out and will get 5-6 months of use.
