40s Sportclad Horsehide Half-belt

Was not sure I would get this one, but sure glad I did. I won the jacket by a few cents.

On first try it felt like an old friend. I've got a lot of half-belts and this one is near the top. The color is amazing, the feel is soft, the leather condition is very strong. The length is perfect. I probably say this and more in the video. This jacket belongs in a Movie.

I've done a few pics with this Sportclad and my new McCoy half-belt. This jacket is every bit as good. I'll do some with all the other contemporaries. It will look very good with one of my Goodwear Ventura. These jackets were the inspiration of all this contemporary jackets. Side by side the sure look related.

Incredible Terry! That's one amazing half-belt, and the patina, grain, wear patterns and even the lining are 100% perfect!

I see exactly what you mean about this jacket should be in a movie! It's so very rare to find one in such a condition as this one is. Great score there! May you keep scoring well, knowing how you take care of, and appreciate each and every one of these for the treasure it really is! Jacket archology by trade!

I totally dropped the ball in the sportclad. I did not check the auction's dates. You know, I almost bought the same color and style jacket at the Pomona Show some 10 years ago. The Gentleman selling the jackets had many half belts for sale. Since I did not take enough cash with me, I ended up just buying one-half belt from him. To this moment, the jacket I purchase that day still my favourite jacket. Here are images of that dual action arm swings.
