This is a '40s medium-blue DB jacket in a smooth wool fabric, possibly gabardine or something like it. Made by Timely Clothes for Appel's here in Louisville, KY. 1939 union tag in the pocket.

6x2 DB, two inside breast pockets, two besom outer pockets and a welt breast pocket; skeleton lining with taped seams inside. Four nonfunctional buttons on each sleeve. Fit is classic '40s Golden Era--high armholes, nipped waist, padded shoulders, etc. Beautiful jacket, but unfortunately it's too small for me.

Condition is good; the only flaw I can see is a couple of small holes at the back of the collar (see picture)

$35 shipped in the Continental US; I'll ship elsewhere but actual shipping charges will apply. Paypal only. PM me with questions or if you're interested.

Measurements:
Chest: 41.5"
Waist: 37"
Shoulders: 18.5"
Sleeves: 25" with 1.5" to let out
Length from bottom of collar: 30"

Bingo: it's wool gabardine. "Timely Clothes" produced endless quantities of smooth-finish wool gab suits, mostly during the '40s and '50s. The gabardine fabric came from Pacific Mills.

(In the 1980s, when vintage clothing from the golden era was more plentiful, it seemed that nearly every vintage suit I found was made by "Timely Clothes".)
