30s Wabash Denim Jacket

Picked up this very nice jacket on the Chinese Taobaoring website: nice construction, nice details on the metal work, solid 14.5 oz selvedge, love the heart print and it fits like a glove.
Cost £85, postage a bit steep (that caught me by surprise), but it skated through customs unscathed, so it’s a bargain compared to an equivalent Wabash jacket from the likes of IH:

There's some really nice stuff there, so it's worth a while having a dig through the site.

@Cocker it's not easy, I had to seek help from a former Lounger to get it right. Here's his fool-proof guide to getting it right:

1. First thing - find the item you want to buy - copy the URL at the top of the page. Then go to https://www.taobaoring.com/

2. Now, you need to "join" the first time you use it - usual thing - email address and password.

3. Once into your account page - go to the "quick order" tab in the top right corner. On the next screen - paste the URL you previously copied into "item link" box. Hit the green button marked "Get it".

4. The next screen will show you the item, and will ask for colour (if there's a choice) and size.

5. Once you've done that,hit "add to cart and complete order".

That's it.

They will get back to you when they confirm availability, and they'll ask you for the first payment. They then purchase the goods - second contact will show you pics of the actual goods, and they ask for second payment.

You can have a conversation with them about shipping values etc, they're very open to that, and it's usually with you inside five days.

Labor Union, it could be a domestic Chinese brand. Central China, near the Shanghai region, has spawned some high quality, dedicated denim/fabric vintage reproduction workshops in the past ten years.

I'm not sure you'll get this outside of China a the moment. I suspect it's just not worth the expense for them as they'll find themselves up against well-established Japanese makers - they need to work on their brand a bit, as well, as there's a bit of rum spelling and grammar on the labelling...

I won't deny that there was a moment after buying it that I had a 'argh, can I rock this?' thouhgt, but when I got it I saw that the pattern's small enough for it to carry its vintage creds.
