These RW Gentlemen Travelers have been my daily work boot/shoe for a few years. Love them. They have broken in nicely and are very comfortable.

For some nice hand made work boots, I also like the my Mattimore Harness boots, but I don't wear them for work.

I will get the Red Wing 9016 Work boots as a birthday present end of the month. My first high quality shoes.

I am a cheapskate and rarley spend more than 100 € on one pair.:eusa_doh:

Is there a history or a timeline for the different red wing models? I know the timeline on their page but the different models are not really mentioned.

I had same problem , got a boot stretcher and sorted the problem. A good shoe shop should be able to perform this service too.
Iron Ranger model does fit differently, if you can exchange may be worth a look at these .

Ok thank you. I was not sure because they fit good at the toes and it would be stupid to go one size up. I tried iron rangers once (a bit mor confy) but the others were on sale ...

I was surprised to find these Wolverine 1000 Mile "Bradford" shoes at DSW yesterday for $199 (the are normally $325). I think I need these.

I'm in New York. I see that they are not online, so if your local store doesn't have them maybe they could call around to other stores and have them shipped.
I got them yesterday and I love them. The quality is amazing.

I stopped in to DSW yesterday and the Wolverines were completely gone! I seriously doubt that at that price point they would sell out. Maybe they got transferred to a busier location, or even possibly returned to the vendor? I'm glad I got a pair before they disappeared!

DSW has two more Wolverine 1000 Mile Boot styles. Not the coolest ones, but both under $150.

Just picked up a copy of the new Fall '11 Wolverine Rockford cap-toe boot. I'd ordered them a couple months ago and due to a production delay On The Fly gave me 40% off. That's some quality customer service, will order from again.

Here are some photos I just snapped:
