I njoy wearing some Stetson styles that are no longer in production. I don't believe they are currently producing the Windham, Dexter and fur felt Brewster. I like to wear something a little different at times.

Overall, I really like it. The quality of the felt and the trim work is a step or two above my Premier Stratoliner. It takes a dry crease really well. That being said, I do not believe the felt quality to be on par with my vintage Stratoliners, Open Roads, etc. I'm also not blown away by the quality of the leather sweatband. It seems to be similar leather to that on my Premier Strat. They did a really nice job on the trim. All in all, the hat is really good quality, likely the best quality modern production hat I have handled, just not quite vintage quality IMHO.

Can u post some pics of the crease? Im sure u had alot to work with as that appears to big one big bulbous crown and absolutely no taper. I like the color and contrasting ribbon. Thx

I received mine earlier this week.

Woooot!!! Grats Rick!!!!!
Mine arrived also, SUPER nice Strats!!! Thinner felt than the Premier, and definitely the Royal Deluxe Strats.
The sweat is actually pretty nice IMHO. A little thicker than the Premier, and has a suede back side where the Premier is leather on both front and back. The fit is a little more true than the Premier which are just a tad large, but not foam fill larger. Could be the slightly thicker sweat.
I can envision 50 years from now guys on the Fedora Lounge writing "Ya.....I finally got my hands on one of those Deckard Strats"............:eusa_clap

Josh,

Based on the pics you provided, there's nothing "modern" about this hat! The block, the brim, the binding, everything.

Great job to Matt and Stetson for reviving a classic quality!!!

The ribbon is what makes the hat in sage just a great combo. The ribbon simmers a little bit.

Jeff

Hey Jeff. "Hi!" Been wantin to ask... does the Stetsonian really have a 6 and 1/2 in crown or us it just 6 in ??? And just abt every pic I've seen of the Stetsonian in "Tawny" appears to be have more of a "rusty" appearence then the usual Stetson Tawny. Is it my imagination...? Thank you my Friend.

The finish of the felt looks superb. Eager to see a photo with a crease too. I'm on the fence with the Excellent Strats. I certainly don't need another one in black, and am not totally sold on the sage or caribou. Well, I'm rethinking the sage now! ;)

I don't think you would regret getting the hat in sage. The color combo of hat and ribbon is what sets that hat apart from the crowd, that and the quality of the hat. I have no regrets.

Well, I want Mr. Deckard and/or Hatco to spill the beans on the featherweight Whippet and undyed silverbelly felts.

The Sage strat does look mighty handsome though. So much different seeing photos from real folks, as opposed to the catalog.
