Wow, this is so exciting...Thanks Josh for the great review....Man, we could be standing at the brim of a new era for hat making...Which could hopefully turn things around for hat popularity and buying....One can only hope....and of course everyone interested in the future of quality new hats needs to support those making quality new hats....No brainer there...

Hi Jeff, do you know in what colors the respective ribbons will be?

And a supplemental question, will all 4 color choices include bound edging along the brim? (presumably matching the respective ribbon colors)

They will be the same as the Premier Statoliners the sage is a new color and is more contrasting as seen in Josh's pictures and all will have a bound edge.

That's too bad, but I can understand, as many irons as Matt has in the fire. I'll wait then. I still think there's a good place for Dobbs in their lineup, they just need to talk up that history a bit. Maybe Hatco's waiting until the Guild Edges are ready! :D

That's IT, Brad! They're very busy somewhere in a secret underground bunker... ANY time now?! :eusa_clap

I hope they make a western sized model. It would need another inch or more of brim before I'd really start drooling. Still exciting though and I can't wait for you guys to start getting them.

Do we have any idea what, if any, other styles might be released using the excellent quality felt? I do love me a thin ribbon, but I'd hold out for, oh, I don't know, a Playboy (wink wink, nudge nudge), or something.

It's definitely a nice looking hat. I'd love to have one but I think the $350+ price tag is going to put it well out of my reach. I can remember a time when I could afford to buy one, but not anymore. I do have a couple of questions about this hat though.

Do these hats come in Long Oval sizes too? A lot of us who are Long Ovals usually have to look for vintage hats that have those sizes or we have to have them custom made.

Looking at the dimensions, I noticed that the hat Josh reviewed has a brim width of 2 1/2 inches. For me, personally, I prefer a wider brim on my fedoras of no less than 2 5/8 inches, and no more than 2 3/4 inches. Do these hats offer brim choices wider than the 2 1/2 inches which Josh reviewed?

I couldn't tell much by the pictures, (I tried zooming in on them), but how's the ribbon work on this hat? Stetson has been putting out some very nice looking and decent quality hats lately. Unfortunately, the substandard ribbon work and the intrusive stitching is a drawback for those hats. I noticed that on the open crown Strat and on the open crown Stetsonian.

FWIW, Terry, I was under the impression that the hat is $305, if that helps even a little.

I'm also an XLO (Extra Long Oval) and find that good felts will conform to every nook and cranny with head time. Not the case with straws.

You deserve one, sir!

I'm with Terry,$305 is a lot for me to pay for a hat.I have over 50 hats,2 customs(Falcon Park)$150 apiece,3 modern hats 2 Akubra and a Stetson, and many vintage hats. The most I have spent was $195 for my Stetsonian.Heck I have a 50's 7x clear beaver I got for $50 with the box. Most my vintage come from yard sales, garage sales, estate sales.Deals are out there.I refuse to pay the high Ebay prices for vintage.I'm just to cheap.

Glad we are seeing the fruit's of the Stetson visit made by the crew for the fedora fest. We where sad that they didn't put out the hat then. But perhaps we had to wait till the could actually produce the hat correctly. This is on my list for one of my new hats this year. Besides one of Art's of course.

The last vintage Whippet in my size I bid on went for almost $500 and the last two Strats went for $400ish so $305-350 for vintage quality felt doesn't sound completely crazy to me. I'm still going to want to see the hat in person first but Josh's review makes me hopeful.
