2 manmade pies

Pumpkin pie is basically a custard pie, I found out. One Halloween I had 3 extra pumpkins so I thought I should make a couple of pies. By the time I got done skinning and cooking the pumpkin and adding all the milk and eggs and stuff I had about 5 gallons of pie filling. I lost track of the number of pies I made. All my friends got pies.

I used to make steak and kidney pie but haven't seen kidneys in the grocery store for 20 years. Steak and mushroom pie isn't bad but not the same.

Made these today following the old Better Homes New Cook book,Cost very little and taste better than store bought, now just need some help eating with a pot of coffee. Not bad for an old Marine

I have an irrational fear of rolling pins. Though I love to bake, I avoid making pie crusts or rolled-dough cookies.
