Well, I took the plunge and measured my head. I bought two cheapy wool fedora stingy brims off feeBay for $15 I think. The grey one looks great, but my brown one needs help. More in another thread on that I think! Anyhow, my grandmother bought me a hat from fedorastore.com that I requested...a Bailey (I know most people don't like them, but seems neat to me). Anyhow, over Christmas I started wearing my hats everywhere. Everywhere!

In traffic jams...people staring.
In stores, people taking notice of a man in a hat.
At church on Christmas eve, others commenting on it in the parking lot (because of course I removed it inside).

That's right, naked headed! Gaze upon my hattedness, and tremble! I love the feeling of people noticing my awesome hats. I think they feel slightly underdressed around me. And well they should! Buy hats! Buy hats NOW!

Hope you guys felt like this with your first hats. :)

I still feel that way and I've been wearing hats for as long as I can remember.

It's an odd thing, a hat is. Put one on, step outside the house, and you simply feel "different". And you (I) can feel that people regard me as "different".
Been wearing hats for about 15 yrs or so, and I still get a neat feeling when
I don a Fedora and go out in the world. Don't leave home without it...

Welcome to the club, Weston. You have taken your first steps into a larger world.

BTW: You might want to add something to the location field in your profile. Knowing what part of the world you are in helps us understand where you are coming from.

Being bald makes hatlessness even more unbearable. I'm pretty sure if I had a nice head of hair I wouldn't be so fanatical about hats. This is not to deny the appeal they have to me, just an acknowledgement of a pragmatic aspect of my hat fetish.
