Here's another red 1817 one, similar to Dinerman's. This hat has a sewn overwelt and a backbow.
I found this Mallory just today at the local Antique mall. Only $25!! It was too small however and I walked away feeling sick abut it. I bet that's nothing new here for the fellow Loungers. :-D
Here's my question. Two actually.
1.) Does anybody have any idea what year this is from? I am guessing not older than 1965 due to the information presented in prior posts in this thread.
2.) Can anybody tell me what model name this might have been?
No holes or blemises had been noticeable by me with the exception of some slight discoloration in the band. You wouldn't notice unless you are close up and then only barely. It was smooth as silk!! Not even kidding. Like butter. I own new Stetson felts and they do not feel close to this!

Your photo of the liner logo cuts off the Established date. I can see the tale end of the little bracket that surrounds it!I found this Mallory just today at the local Antique mall. Only $25!! Baskin was the retailer
It didn't have a size and the seller had no idea. I'm a 7 1/2 and it was small on me. Maybe a 7?Your photo of the liner logo cuts off the Established date. I can see the tale end of the little bracket that surrounds it!
The plastic tip cover makes me think 1950's. Nice hat.... what size was it?
It didn't say anywhere inside the hat. I'm a 7 1/2. Maybe a 7 or a little over?Your photo of the liner logo cuts off the Established date. I can see the tale end of the little bracket that surrounds it!

Baskin was a Chicago dept store, the concord was likely the modelSomebody had a "Baskin," didn't they? Dobbs?
Sent directly from my mind to yours.
It doesn't have the telltale date on the liner, but I'm guessing 50s. Baskin is the model name. What size is it? Perhaps you could broker it to another Lounger in the Classies.

I like that idea! Or even better......I can see if anyone is willing to do a swap for a 7 1/2 if I acquire this hat. I can easily go back and get it if their was any interest. How do I find the classified section? I'm sorry but I'm still a rookie here and learning my way around.
That's where I was! Naperville. I had no idea you are local to me sir! Hwdy neighbor!Baskin closed somewhat recently from what I've read. I've got a Biltmore from Baskin I picked up in Naperville.
