I hope it's okay posting to this thread after this amount of time, but I found a similar pair of boots and wanted to add them here and see if anyone might know any more about them. They're very similar, but on the tongue they have punched 45C / 40, am I right in thinking this means 1940 / size 45c - I'm a UK9 and they definitely seem at least a couple of sizes too big. The other thing that struck me is the grain on the leather which seems to have been embossed with stars, is that unusual? On the sole I can see 45A and 'C.A.J.' (or 'G.A.J'), then on the insole again 'C.A.J' and some reversed numbers, maybe '/853'

Really nice boot Jamie, I wouldn't mind a pair of these too! Where did you get them from?

They do look to me like the boots in the original post and with the three crowns embossed on them they're clearly Swedish, but I'm no expert on these things!

Thanks, I thought they were great too, I picked them up in a charity shop in Muswell Hill. Unfortunately they're definitely too big for me so will be selling them, but nice to have for a while anyway! They do smell rather strongly, a bit like an old tent, is there anything I can do to mitigate that? Here's a better picture as well
