1940's vintage half belt, one pocket lined in plastic!

Just got my hands on a nice 1940's Hurcules style long half belt. Looks all original to me but one of the Talon zipped chest pockets is lined in plastic! All the others are lined in standard moleskin. Never seen anything like it before, can anyone shed any light on this? Original feature or modification?

Cheers Mike, thought it might be something like that, just wasn't sure if they used plastic in jackets in the 1940's.

The top pocket was generally used for cigs and the old filter-less Luckies fit perfectly. Ah, I remember those days.

You couldnt get those Luckies here up north, But I would always bring some back from Buffalo at the duty Free...Tastiest Cigs ever.

Those were the Days indeed, smoked me plenty Cartons of those for sure.

Here you go Mike, all the pockets are lined with moleskin apart from this one:





Sadly it doesn't quite fit me so it's now in the classifieds if anyone's interested.
