1940's pork pie hat

Hello there --

I'm researching pork pie hats from the early 1940's (1940-1944) and material is surprisingly difficult to come by. It seems fedoras were a more popular choice! If any collectors out there are willing to post examples from their own collections, I would be ever so grateful.

Maybe not quite of the vintage you are seeking, but here's one...

I believe most porkpies were fedoras shaped into a pork-pie look. When it comes to hats, there are a multitude of wayts to crease them, the pork-pie just being one of many.

I'm fond of the one Fred MacMurray wears in Son of Flubberhttp://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&h...nh=189&tbnw=255&start=36&ndsp=17&tx=139&ty=89. That's probably an early '60s hat creased to resemble a '20s hat, though when you average them, that ends up '40s.
