Very unusual (and illogical?) to make a belted back with a vertical center seam. Makes me suspect that the half-belt was added as an afterthought.

Unusual - maybe, but why might it be illogical?

It's what you see on many of the 60's and 70's belted-back jackets. Center seam and no pleats.

the center seam is not that unusual, but the belt is to low, underneath the waist line.....

Tweed Jackets are now in trend this winters and are available online with reasonable rates, so i think don't let them go and get off on the new arrivals of this winter.
