1931 waist coat

I managed to pick up,what the seller said,was an original 1931 waist coat,the other day on ebay,for £12.00.i don't know if it really is a 1931 waistcoat,but it is a lovely woollen waistcoat,and fits me incredibly well.it is size medium,and fits me,as if it is a modern size small.I will post a few pics,so you can have a look at it,and tell me if it really is a 1931 or 1930's waistcoat.

My mother had a look at the label,and said it seems a bit dodgy.it does look like it has been put on by an amateur.the label is in link 11.
Any help dating this waistcoat,would be most appreciated.I think it's a lovely waist coat myself,and i am not too fussed if it turns out to be a much later date of make.

I wouldn't doubt that it was made in 1931...The details of it seem to be in line with that...Also about the label, there's a chance that it actually fell off and was resewn on by the seller...I've had to do that before and let me tell you I'm not master tailor...hahaha

thank you slicedbread.it is good to know it could very well be an original 1931 waistcoat,and that could be an original 1931 label.I really appreciate the help you have so kindly given me.

You realize, don't you, that it is an evening waistcoat, meant to be worn with a dinner jacket and trousers of the same fabric? The low button stance makes that clear. Nice find, but don't wear it with daytime clothes!

yes orgetorix,i do realise that,simply because my mother pointed it out as soon as she saw me wearing it ( she is hooked on all the old films,like Gigi etc ).i was looking for an evening suit on ebay after i bought it,but unfortunately,being only 5 ' 2 '',the backs,tails etc of most suits,meant they would be down by my lower legs calfs.I suppose i could buy one,then get it retailored to fit my body length,but i am unsure i would like to do that to an original suit.I guess i will have to wait and wait,and hopefully,a suit will turn up in my length.
