According to Marc Chevalier this suit is actually from 1926-1930.

"Just wanted to let you know that your wonderful suit is, in fact, from the late 1920s, not the '30s. How do I know? The definitive indicator is the fabric in the jacket's lining and on the vest's back. That fabric is alpaca mohair, and American suit manufacturers very quickly stopped using it (in favor of rayon) around 1930. Before then, alpaca mohair was found on practically every mass-produced "off-the-rack" suit in the United States. This fact, combined with the vest's rounded bottom points and the nap of the tweed (among other, smaller details), indicate that your suit was made sometime between 1926 and 1930."
