Vintage late 30s early 40s cream coloured shiny rayon blouse and skirt suit from 'Fruit of the Loom'. The Suit is very well made and has tiny multi-coloured triangles all over the fabric. There is soft, dark brown embroidered edging around the mandarin style collar, down the placket and along the waistline. Quite striking feature of the blouse. There are 10 bakelite buttons with 4 at the waist for decoration, which a lovely feature. Sleeves are cuffed and the blouse is darted slightly at the front and back with plenty of room for alterations if the buyer wanted to 'nip' in the waist more. The A-line skirt has a side medal zipper and bakelite button closure. There is some darting at the waist for fit. * The blouse has been clipped to fit the smallish mannequin.
'Fruit of the Loom' was founded in 1851 by Rhode Island textile mill owner, Robert Knight.
