Thanks, just wondering about the Good Conduct Medal/Ribbon. Since it wasn't constituted and authorized for wear until June 41 and it's for three years good conduct service, a ribbon of inter war service would fit the time period a bit better....IMO.. There are many.

I remember finding many pairs of those boots in dumpsters in 1958 while visiting my uncle at Ft Campbell and a few cavalry chin additions. Wish I had them today.

Cheers

Late 1942

The glasses are a bit farby and the breeches need pressing too.

By the way, you might have heard this tidbit before, we never called it a Good Conduct Ribbon, even though that was it's was officially called (and still is) but it didn't really designate Good Conduct but rather the recipient was never.....caught!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I don't know if you can find it, but there is a movie called "Army Girl" about the pre-War US cavalry. It has all sorts of horses and cavalry gear. (The "Army Girl" is the colonel's daughter.)
It used to be on Netflix streaming, but I can't find it now.
from IMDB:

Army Girl (1938)

A fight to keep cavalry horses from being replaced by tanks culminates in a great race between machine and beast.

Here is a picture of my Dad in ROTC just before the war. He ended up in the 9th Air Force. I guise C-47s were just big thirsty mules!
