That Louis Mayer coat is amazing: 2 breast pockets (possibly patch) and a fold back cuff ? Uncombed (mohair?) wool ... lovely indeed!
Here is one of mine. 1920s British city suit with bowler. View attachment 106661 View attachment 106662

yes. narrow leg trousers were around then. they fit perfect.A very interesting piece indeed. Is the trousers' width original? It seems also that the trousers are sagging down from the rear (although it may just be the angle of the picture), which could be avoided by using braces with short back strap (or V-shaped braces) and some alterations at the seat.
even without the wall it is hard to properly photograph. almost every photo makes it look black, but it is a dark navy color.Unfortunately the photos are somewhat difficult to recognize with the dark suit in front of the bright wall. But this seems to be a great suit - and very well preserved.
A rarity from this early time!
from the sellerThat's too bad. Would have liked to see details.
I'm sure it would be okay to post here anyways. All the 20's stuff I've seen that comes anywhere near your size is workwear, and this isn't even to say that large men's workwear is easy to find, just seen hardly any city clothes over 38R from this period. I have doubts you'll have any luck finding 20's clothing that's not accessories or hats.I don't have anything from the '20s, due to being broke, and a 46l 42 waist, but I have a Pendleton jacket with 4 pockets that I altered to look '20s. Would it be all right to post this, considering it's '20s inspired?
I know about Mr Reese. He and I have spoken...I've sold to him. I just can't afford his prices at the moment. I already asked him if he has anything in my size and he said he doesn'tI'm sure it would be okay to post here anyways. EDIT: Have you thought of calling up Benny Reese in California? He has hundreds of 1890's-1960's suits in literally all sizes, and I'm sure you could find a couple decent, old suits your size at his shop.
Thank you!! I knew it was special as soon as I saw it! The fabric is relatively lightweight as wellGreat cut, nice fabric:
Congrats on this suit!
