What is the true size? Even though it's tagged 7 1/8, the auction pages claims that is fits between 7 1/4 and 7 3/8. Will you clarify that please?

That was the confusion for me as well. There is no way that Scottf is between a 7 1/4 and 7 3/8 if this hat is a true 7 1/8 and at 22.5" circumference it is true to its size.

I have another of his early Stetson 7-1/8 hats(just under 22-1/2"). The very soft bodies and sweatbands can be worn high and snug on a 7-1/4+ head much as they likely were when new judging from contemporary photos. Probably fine for 7-1/8 with a touch of padding. Hats this old are not everyday users however(not with original sweatband anyway -which would be a shame to lose). Someone buy this hat so I don't.

Couldn't bring myself to cut this old hat down. I'll offer it here for $100 shipped within USA. Not a bad price for a near new condition 7 1/8 Stetson from the late 20's/Early 30's
