1899 steam locomotive runs for the first time in decades...

Well behind the front lines!
NP 0-6-0 number 924 (Rogers, 1899) steamed for the public for the first time at Snoqualmie, WA for their "railroad days" event this past Saturday.
She needs more work and some paint, but she seemed to be steaming pretty well.

Its good to see the old steam trains running again.

This loco is a J-3 that belonged to NC&St.L railroad. They scrapped all of them except this one, and donated it to the city of Nashville, and has been in Centennial Park since 1952. I think late last year, it was moved and is currently being restored to operational condition. I would dearly love to see it running again, as I played on it in the park, when I was a kid!
