These are all really good ideas the only problem is that I cant try them all. What colors do good open roads come in because I would want one in something other than white ( which seems to be the standard).

Get an Akubra Campdraft. It's an open crown Open Road, and it comes in many colors, with a wind trolley.

I've known several people with the Stetson Gun Club Dune and they seem to hold up well, but at almost twice the price of the Akubra, I'd go with that.
