"Midway"

It starts with a black screen, and you hear the 1,850 hp Wright R-2600 "Cyclone" radials, starting. There's nothing like the sound of a radial.

Then it goes to newsreel like footage of the Doolitle Raid, launching from the Hornet, and flying toward Japan, while the credits roll.

I love the opening credits and music to Clint Eastwoods The Gauntlet.. Great blues/jazz score and great shots of Pheonix in the early hours..

You can`t beat those super cool Saul Bass title sequences!

North by Northwest
Vertigo
The Man With the Golden Arm
Anatomy of a Murder
Bunny Lake is Missin
The Human Factor
Exodus
Sparticus

...and many more!

Did he also do the title sequence to "The Satan Bug"(1965)? That`s got to be one of the more creepy animation sequences.

The "Casino Royal" remake had an excellent Saul Bass-styled title sequence.

Twelve O'clock High

12 O'clock High! It starts out slow, but when Dean Jagger is cleaning his glasses, if that doesn't send chills down your spine! As a side note, when Paul Mantz was negotiating with the producer for his fee to belly land the B-17, a camera man piped up. "Hell I belly landed two of those during the war, I'll do it for free", Mantz got him to shut up, and proceeded to do the seen!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gi2NwU38NzA

Most Movies that came into my mind where already mentioned. Watchmen was the first that came to my mind. Also like the Dawn Of The Dead intro with the Johnny Cash soundtrack but it wouldn't be very popular in the FL I think.:p

Btw I really love the font thats used in Fritz Lang movies

George Romero is a genius and can do no wrogn in my book. I actually also enjoyed the remakes of his zombie films too; Tom Savini's take on Night was intersting in that it took the social commentary in a different direction (the lone female survivor in the farmhouse replacing the black gentleman of the first, the zombie 'hunting' and 'sport' being had with them by the rednecks at the end). The Dawn remake had maybe less to say in that respect, but it was nonetheless a great zombie film. I specially loved that the ending was completely different if you stayed to watch the credits....

Romero's titles were always great. Now he has, with Diary, given his take on the modern User Generated Content-based media, I would love to see him do a take on nostalgia by producing a zombie film set in the past....

My favourite would have to be "Fight Club" by a long chalk. Absolutely brilliant, novel and jarring opening.

"CRASH" by David Cronenberg, starring James Spader ...

.... not the indentically-titled racial conflict film.

Weird, metallic lettering, all cracked. Brilliant credits, brilliant and freakish film.

I just couldn't get into it myself.... I don't know how fair an analysis this is, but it seemed a bit self-conciously 'controversial' to me. That said, anything which riles the Daily Mail I have to give some creedance to.... lol
